Carmen is the measurement engine that implements the Software Carbon Intensity (SCI) at scale across cloud infrastructure and applications.

The Carbon Measurement Engine (Carmen) delivers the visibility organisations need to understand and act on their software emissions. Developed by Amadeus and donated to the Green Software Foundation, Carmen provides transparent, reproducible carbon calculations that make measurement actionable for engineering teams—tracking emissions from both infrastructure resources and the workloads running on them.
